Tarang is an annual Kathak presentation by the students of Aakruti Kathak Kendra. Guided by Gurus Mangala Bhatt and Raghavraj Bhatt, themselves disciples of Pandit Durgalalji and Padma Vibhushan Pandit Birju Maharaj ji, students of Aakruti Kathak Kendra will be performing various pieces in the Kathak repertoire.
This year, the presentation will be thematic, incorporating the tradition of ‘dohe’, or short, profound poetry, in multiple languages, interwoven with technical Kathak pieces as well as Abhinay. Aakruti Kathak Kendra is a wonderfully inclusive space, and students at various levels of training will be presenting.
