The workshop aims to encourage creativity, self-expression, and stress relief through art while providing members with an engaging and interactive learning experience. NALSAR University of Law organizes a book discussion on Rukmini S' book 'Whole Numbers and Half Truths: What Data Can and Cannot Tell Us about Modern India'.

Participants create a small piece of art using the provided materials and are encouraged to express themselves freely. Once finished, every artwork is displayed for everyone to view. Participants then walk around, admire each other's creations, and can choose to propose a trade with someone whose artwork they connect with. A trade only happens if both people agree, making each exchange intentional and meaningful. By the end of the workshop, participants leave with either their own artwork or one they received through a mutual exchange, creating not just a handmade piece but also a memorable interaction.

What begins as performance soon blurs with reality, drawing the director and actor into a shadowy world of obsession, betrayal, and madness.

The Babul Eco Film Festival (BEFF) is an international environmental film festival organized by Babul Films Society NGO, a Hyderabad-based non-profit organization founded in 2012. BEFF is recognized as Hyderabad and South India’s first international environmental film festival, dedicated to promoting environmental awareness, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable development through the power of cinema. The festival is held across multiple venues in Hyderabad and is timed around World Environment Day, bringing together filmmakers, students, environmentalists, and audiences from India and around the world.

About the festival

BEFF showcases a diverse selection of documentaries, short films, animations, and experimental works that explore themes such as climate change, wildlife, forests, water, indigenous communities, pollution, sustainability, ecological justice, and the relationship between people and nature. In addition to film screenings, the festival hosts panel discussions, seminars, masterclasses, filmmaker interactions, and eco-themed activities, creating a platform for dialogue, education, and collaboration.


The festival believes that “when people see, they feel; when they feel, they act.” By using storytelling and visual media, BEFF aims to inspire individuals and communities to become more environmentally conscious and actively participate in protecting the planet. Seher Hashmi is a courageous public speaker, fashion stylist, and social campaigner who uses her platform to spark vital conversations around mental health and emotional well-being. In her upcoming talk at La Makaan, Seher candidly shares her personal journey navigating the complex realities of Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) and clinical depression—demystifying conditions that are often misunderstood or wrapped in silence. By opening up about her daily struggles, therapeutic journey, and the path toward resilience, her session aims to dismantle the deep-seated stigma surrounding mental health in society. Set within an inclusive, reflective space, this talk offers an empathetic and empowering environment for attendees to gain deeper understanding, break the silence, and foster collective support.

This session is a featured stop on *Beyond the Horizon: A Ride for Resilience*, a national motorcycle expedition spanning 50 cities, 100 interactive sessions, and over 7,000 kilometers on her Royal Enfield to foster dialogue around courage, mental well-being, and community strength. By integrating personal stories Seher aims to build open, compassionate spaces in every city it touches—reminding us that resilience is not built in isolation, but through shared understanding, breaking silences, and supporting one another along the way.

The 2nd Hyderabad Postcrossing Meetup, planning to be held on Gandhi Jayanthi (October 2nd), is a special community gathering for postcard enthusiasts, philatelists, and collectors.
