THE PROPOSAL
Anton Chekhov`s play "The Proposal" in Hindi is a comedic one-act farce about Rajveer, a nervous man seeking to propose to his neighbor`s daughter, Shivani. Misunderstandings and petty arguments over land and dogs lead to chaos. Will the proposal be accepted ?

KAAGITAM PADAVA
The editors of a newly established magazine Ideal Illustrated Weekly have advertised for writers to contribute to their columns.

However, It was asked to demonstrate their talent at their office and not to send the writings by post. Then a song writer, serial writer, culinary writer and a film reviewer walk into the office one after the other to showcase their talent. Will they succeed in impressing the editor?

With many laugh out loud moments, unexpected twists, this play is a hilarious take on the obsession with self promotion and the extremes people will go in the pursuit of recognition.

KUNDETI KOMMU
Kundeti Kommu depicts the clash between two once-united villages, Pedduru and Chinnuru, torn apart by political strife. The narrative unfolds as a traveller, engaged in conversation with an urbanite, collapses precisely on the boundary line separating the two villages. This event sparks a contentious dispute over who bears the responsibility for the deceased`s final rites.

A new dilemma emerges as both brothers vie for the privilege of conducting the last rites, each blinded by the promise of monetary gain. Who will ultimately lay claim to the elusive fortune? Only by witnessing the unfolding drama will the truth be revealed.

The Save Chevella Banyans group has been working for the past five years to protect a stretch of heritage banyan trees on the Manneguda-Chevella-Vikarabad road from being felled to make way for a four-lane highway. The group received a favourable judgment from the National Green Tribunal that in its opinion required that the National Highways Authorities of India conduct an Environmental Impact Assessment before proceeding with the highway construction, noting that the trees were part of a valuable ecosystem that should be preserved. The group has now learned that the highway project is slated to be cleared, and the EIA has been obtained. We wish to challenge this and seek to examine whether the EIA has indeed been done as per norms.

Police Action & Politicization of History

The calls to observe September 17, which marks the annexation of the earth while the princely state of Hyderabad into India in 1948, as 'Hyderabad Liberation Day' have been growing over the last handful of years thanks to an aggressive right-wing push.

Lack of political will and an unwillingness to speak about it over decades has led to the event today getting politicized. Last year, the Telangana government also observed it as 'National Integration Day' caving into pressure. Similarly, this year, the government is organizing another event.

It is in these contacts that it is important to understand what happened in 1948, especially with the Razakar violence, the Telangana Armed Struggle, and the aftermath, which led to a massacre of thousands of Muslims in parts of the erstwhile Hyd state.

Journalist Yunus Lasania will host the talk, and Mr Raghu Pal, whose father participated in the Telangana Armed Struggle, will be the guest speaker.

Songs of Resistance: A Vigil for Justice

Join us for a powerful evening of music and solidarity as we come together to protest the rising tide of violence against women and queer individuals. This event will pay tribute to the memory of the young female doctor who was tragically murdered at RG Kar Hospital in Kolkata, and demand swift and unwavering justice for her family.

Through the evocative power of music, we will raise our voices against the pervasive culture of fear and discrimination that women and marginalized communities face. Let us stand united in our call for a safer and more equitable society where everyone feels valued and protected.

This event is not just about mourning a loss; it's about igniting a movement for change. We will use our collective strength to demand accountability from those in power and to advocate for policies that prioritize the safety and well-being of all individuals.

Together, we can make a difference.

Additional Information:

* The event will feature performances by local musicians and poets who share their art as a form of resistance and healing.
* There will be opportunities for attendees to speak out and express their experiences with violence and discrimination.

Let us unite in solidarity to demand a world free from fear and injustice.
