“Around the River” is a documentary about the making of Jean Renoir’s film The River (1951).

Arnaud Mandagaran Who was born in Paris. Studied philosophy at the University of Paris at Nanterre (1968/1971) and discovered the Indian sub-continent in the early 1970s, a part of the world that has remained for him a subject of interest. Indeed most of his documentary films have been on South Asian subjects.

SYNOPSIS: “What is Kashmir, but a simple beauty and an ugly truth.”

Kashmir has been a conflict zone for more than 72 years, and the recent abrogation of Article 370 has plunged it into yet another crisis.

Come witness an inventive take on the history of Kashmir, from mythology to contemporary reality, touching narratives and counter-narratives that continue to colour our perspectives about the valley and its people.

This play was a part of THESPO- India’s Biggest Youth Theatre Festival and The Roots India Short Play Festival 2020 and performed at Prithvi Theatre and at LTG Auditorium, Mandi House, Delhi.

Till now it has been performed 10times in different cities like Udaipur, Jaipur, Delhi and Mumbai.

On this Day, Bhavan’s College Alumni Association, a registered Society in Hyderabad would hold an open meeting to understand and deliberate on various issues and insights about the print media in India. Entry is free and young newspaper readers are encouraged to join and share their experiences.

Our group is one that of mass media students who are also qualified in allied aspects of the profession like Theatre, Cinema and Literature. Over the past few years, we have independently and inter-dependently completed a lot of assignments in the film and advertising fields for both corporate and public service sectors. Synopsis: In Telanaga(India), Hyderabad’s old city is a living display of age old crafts and craftsmen. One such unlikely practice found at Telephone Exchange Road, East of Charminar is the sculpting of dentures.Since the establishment of the first clinic in 1904 by Mohd. Dilawar Ali, the dentist street of Charminar has evolved into a space offering devoted tooth care to lesser privileged patients. Following the routine of three technicians at work in their workshops, Daant Parwah depicts an ageing street and its antique occupation. Filmed through an observational lens – the documentary offers a peek into the a few patients’ fleeting anxieties of teeth fitting and a tender quest to retain their social and physical identity attached with a functional set of teeth.
