Famous as ‘Puttu Maccha’ (congenital black mole) Khader, after the title of his 1991 long poem, 71 year old Khadar Mohiuddin has made a distinct mark with his very finely tuned, structurally well-organised and sensitive poetic articulations of the paradigmatic shifts brought over the natural environment, human existence (individual and social) and the very nature of human perception and experience, and the very disturbing trend of ‘othering’ significant sections of a composite society based especially on their religious identity.
