With his over 300 short stories, 7 novels, 5 plays , and 100 essays writtien over two and a half decades, Ashok Kumar Peddinti has earned great crticial as well as popular appreciation for his probing portrayals of the socio-cuitural, political and environmantal realities of Telangna spanning the last hundred years, from traditional rural life to industrial and urbam landscapes, the styruggle for Telangana stare and later developments too. Ten volumes his short stories stories have been published so far. Ashok Kumar is also a theatre person and an actor. He has also written screenplays/dialogues for a couple of films.
The 8th edition of DHWANI will feature a performative reading of four stories by the writer himself. The four stories represent four main thematic strands of his writings. The performative rreadings will be supported and enhanced with appropriate suggestive and symbolically connected visual and audio elements.
