Movie analysis
Sun Mar 16, 4:00 PM
Movie club
Art and literature can be seen as extensions of the human mind. Very often they can reveal what lies within, sometimes visibly, and, sometimes, not quite so visibly. The movie club is (we hope) a fun way of looking deeper into the emotions, perceptions and thoughts that weave human relationships together or tear them apart. A movie may be treated as a true story or, alternatively, can be used as a tool to try and figure out what went on in the directors head when the movie was made. Either way, it’s a different way of understanding human behavior and relationships. In the end, by looking deeper into another’s story, we hope, perchance, to understand ourselves better.

Know Your "Why"
Sat Mar 22, 5:00 PM
Akarsh Sriramoju
Know Your Why:

Is purpose the missing link in your journey? Finding your "why" can bring clarity to your choices and direction in life. Carl Jung, a renowned psychologist, once said, "Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes." His words remind us that true growth comes from looking inward and exploring our inner selves rather than relying solely on external answers.

This session, led by Akarsh Sriramoju and Goutham Toondla from Inwesol, an organisation dedicated to resolving career dilemmas and helping young people prioritise their well-being, explores how understanding your purpose can shape both personal and professional growth. Designed for individuals aged 13 to 40, the session is particularly relevant for those navigating key transitions, such as moving from school to college, from college to work, or switching careers. It invites you to embark on a journey toward a more purposeful life.

The film examines how the true meaning of non-violence or Ahimsa needs to be revisited. It delves into the mistreatment of animals, particularly in India’s dairy industry, and how this is connected to rising health problems, such as diabetes, and environmental issues, such as climate change. The film also explicates the positive impact that ahimsa can have. It offers a fresh perspective on social justice, animal rights, and environmental sustainability.

Set in post-World War II Japan, the film portrays Uchida's life as he faces the challenges of aging, loss, and rebuilding after the war. (Madadayo in Japanese). The film is a poignant reflection on resilience, gratitude, and the enduring bonds between teacher and students.

Know Your "Why"
Sat Mar 22, 5:00 PM

Shubh
The film examines how the true meaning of non-violence or Ahimsa needs to be revisited. It delves into the mistreatment of animals, particularly in India’s dairy industry, and how this is connected to rising health problems, such as diabetes, and environmental issues, such as climate change. The film also explicates the positive impact that ahimsa can have. It offers a fresh perspective on social justice, animal rights, and environmental sustainability.

KAY ZALA! BAAL RADAT HOTA
Sun Mar 30, 8:00 PM
SOHAM THEATRE
The title "Kay Zala! Baal Radat Hota.." translates to "What happened? The child was crying.." in English. This phrase is reminiscent of a classic Indian advertisement for Woodward's Gripe Water, a remedy for infants' colic relief, making it a familiar expression in Marathi households.

The play emphasizes nurturing good values and the complexities parents face while grooming their child to be a respectable individual in society.
