Largely based on the real life story of a rebel woman Hypatia, a philosopher, astronomer, and mathematician of the 4th century Roman Empire, ‘Agora’ depicts the struggle of reason with religion in the feudal era Egypt, then part of the declining Roman empire marred by the violent conflict between Christians and Jews.
