Therefore, we believe that upholding these four justice principles is crucial for becoming a progressive nation. Understanding this Vision, we - a group of responsible citizens, have started the "Justice Movement of India." It is a long-term movement aimed at bringing citizens, activists, experts, NGOs, Civil society organizations, and intellectuals together for the sake of our Nation's progress.

We are Read A Kitaab book club and have around 16,000 members globally. We meet every month to discuss books and exchange ideas and thoughts. We will be doing a book swap and talk about Why reading is important and how readers are the society builders, how it will help us shape a better society. Art-Flow Movement’s RANGMANCH is a platform for spoken word poetry and storytelling where the artists are encouraged to express their thoughts on specific AFM themes. AFM is a community art platform in Hyderabad where local artists from different streams, ages and walks of life collaborate for few months to create art like books, art exhibitions, films etc. In it's first project AFM has published a book, an anthology of 14 short stories written and illustrated in the theme of mental health. And in the second project AFM is painting walls in Hyderabad in the theme of EMBRACE EQUITY.

AFM uses Rangmanch as a tool for campaigning about the sensitive theme it works with.

In Rangmanch #2 30 participants will be selected through application process and top 3 winners will be given an opportunity to be part of the AFM’s next book.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The Torn Curtains - one of the city's oldest theater groups - aims to create awareness, promote early detection, and provide solidarity to those affected via this powerful and emotionally-charged performance centred around the theme of breast cancer, which celebrates resilience, courage and hope.

The play consists of two compelling acts:

"Don't Edit Me" (22 minutes) - A gripping portrayal of four women in a breast cancer support group, who, through shared anguish and insecurity, find the strength to confront their challenges.

"Goodbye" (16 minutes) - A raw and visceral monologue by a woman facing breast cancer, who is also plagued by alcoholism. Her harrowing journey is deeply moving and inspires introspection.

We are working towards staging this play every day in a different venue, through the month of October 2023.

Palestine is back into the news after the unprecedented series of attacks by the Palestinian resistance movement which is being led by the Islamist group HAMAS. As expected, the Zionist Israeli state retaliated with brute force and the region has again turned into a theatre of war. The leaders of several countries including India have squarely blamed HAMAS for its act of 'terror' and supported the right of Israel to its "self-defense". Many people are blaming both the sides and making a humanitarian appeal for peace. But, is it even possible to think about peace in a situation of extreme injustice, brutal Israeli colonial occupation of Palestine and a devious zionist design to annihilate the entire Palestinian people? What are the roots of the conflict in Palestine? These are the questions we wish to raise and discuss as part of this extremely important discussion. The editors of a newly established magazine `ideal illustrated weekly` have advertised for writers to contribute to their columns.

However, It was asked to demonstrate their talent at their office and not to send the writings by post. Then a song writer, serial writer, culinary writer and a film reviewer walk into the office one after the other to showcase their talent. Will they succeed in impressing the editor?

With many laugh out loud moments, unexpected twists, this play is a hilarious take on the obsession with self promotion and the extremes people will go in the pursuit of recognition.

The story this book follows begins on August 15, 1947. As the new nation-states of India and Pakistan prepared to negotiate land and power, the citizens of the princely state of Hyderabad experienced the unraveling of an intense political conflict between the union government of India and the local ruler, the Nizam of Hyderabad. The author explores how the state of Hyderabad was struggling to produce its own tools of cultural renaissance and modernity in the background of the union government's deployment of the central army, the Nizam's idea of "Azad Hyderabad," and the Telangana armed struggle fostered by leftist parties. With evidence from the oral histories of various sections of Muslims and non-Muslims—and a wide variety of written sources and historical documents, this book captures such an intense moment of new politics and cultural discourses.

About the Director: Pankaj Rishi Kumar subtly keeps introducing the layers of complexity into the film by weaving-in the making of the play, “Chandala”. The dialogue between the theatre director and the actors to adapt the play into the Indian context works as a Greek chorus and keeps the viewer engaged. “You are Juliet’s messengers to me,” the director tells the women cast. "Kaala Dharmam" is a poignant Telugu drama that delves deep into the intricacies of life, loss, and the fragile balance of family bonds. We believe that the critical issue of mental health awareness as a whole and particularly in the context of domestic violence, deserves significant attention.
This panel discussion will bring together experts, advocates to highlight the importance of mental health awareness and explore the intersectionality of mental health and domestic violence, and to discuss strategies for providing effective support.

We are Read A Kitaab book club and have around 16,000 members globally. We meet every month to discuss books and exchange ideas and thoughts. We will be doing a book swap and talk about Why reading is important and how readers are the society builders, how it will help us shape a better society. Our monthly meet will be on Sunday 15th October

Art-Flow Movement’s RANGMANCH is a platform for spoken word poetry and storytelling where the artists are encouraged to express their thoughts on specific AFM themes. AFM is a community art platform in Hyderabad where local artists from different streams, ages and walks of life collaborate for few months to create art like books, art exhibitions, films etc. In it's first project AFM has published a book, an anthology of 14 short stories written and illustrated in the theme of mental health. And in the second project AFM is painting walls in Hyderabad in the theme of EMBRACE EQUITY.

AFM uses Rangmanch as a tool for campaigning about the sensitive theme it works with.

In Rangmanch #2 30 participants will be selected through application process and top 3 winners will be given an opportunity to be part of the AFM’s next book.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The Torn Curtains - one of the city's oldest theater groups - aims to create awareness, promote early detection, and provide solidarity to those affected via this powerful and emotionally-charged performance centred around the theme of breast cancer, which celebrates resilience, courage and hope.

The play consists of two compelling acts:

"Don't Edit Me" (22 minutes) - A gripping portrayal of four women in a breast cancer support group, who, through shared anguish and insecurity, find the strength to confront their challenges.

"Goodbye" (16 minutes) - A raw and visceral monologue by a woman facing breast cancer, who is also plagued by alcoholism. Her harrowing journey is deeply moving and inspires introspection.

We are working towards staging this play every day in a different venue, through the month of October 2023.

Palestine is back into the news after the unprecedented series of attacks by the Palestinian resistance movement which is being led by the Islamist group HAMAS. As expected, the Zionist Israeli state retaliated with brute force and the region has again turned into a theatre of war. The leaders of several countries including India have squarely blamed HAMAS for its act of 'terror' and supported the right of Israel to its "self-defense". Many people are blaming both the sides and making a humanitarian appeal for peace. But, is it even possible to think about peace in a situation of extreme injustice, brutal Israeli colonial occupation of Palestine and a devious zionist design to annihilate the entire Palestinian people? What are the roots of the conflict in Palestine? These are the questions we wish to raise and discuss as part of this extremely important discussion. Hyderabad Cinephiles will be screening the movie School of Rock on 20th October, at Lamakaan.

The movie follows the journey of Dewy Finn, a rock musician kicked out of his band, and a bunch of stuck-up kids from an elite school. The two forces, in the journey of teaching and learning rock music, teach each other many poignant lessons about life and society. Come join us to watch this movie to feel the essence of rock, that is, resistance and rebellion.

The screening will be followed by a discussion.

The event's main focus will be on four of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals: reduced inequalities, gender equality, climate action, and peace, justice, and strong institutions.
